NOW THAT'S A DELIVERY! A HUGE Congratulations on the team effort to everyone at Daimler Trucks Adelaide and Daimler Trucks Mildura.

Six, Seven. GTS Freight Management adds seven Actros to existing six

GTS Freight Management Pty Ltd has added seven new Mercedes-Benz Actros trucks to its Mildura-based fleet!

The privately-owned company, which loads 500 trailers each day and covers 3 million kilometres every month, decided to purchase new Mercedes-Benz models after a positive experience with six Mercedes-Benz 2658 trucks that joined the fleet close to two years ago.

This time around, GTS Freight Management Managing Director, Damien Matthews, has selected the range-topping 2663 Actros model.

Daimler Truck Australia Pacific President and CEO, Daniel Whitehead, says it is fantastic to see more Actros trucks hit the road in GTS colours.

“How good does the Actros look in the black GTS colour scheme? We are thrilled to have our trucks be part of the amazing success story of GTS, with its embrace of cutting-edge technology across its warehouses and its trucks,” he says.

Delivered by Daimler Trucks Mildura and handed over by Daimler Truck Australia Pacific Head of Retail Fleet Sales, Barry Smith, the Actros 2663 models run the 630hp OM 473 16-litre six-cylinder linked to a 12-speed PowerShift Automated Manual Transmission (AMT).

Mr Matthews says the Actros trucks that joined the GTS Freight Management fleet in 2024 had done the job well, something that made it easy to order the next batch.

“The driver acceptance has been excellent and those Actros trucks have done everything we wanted from them, especially when it comes to comfort, economy and safety,” Mr Matthews says.

“The Mercedes-Benz product is also known for its high level of active safety features and that is critically important to our company given that keeping people safe is at the heart of everything we do at GTS,” he says.

Daimler Truck Australia Pacific Sales, Marketing and Operations Vice President, Andrew Assimo, says Mercedes-Benz Trucks is excited to continue its partnership with GTS Freight Management.

“GTS Freight Management has built up a reputation for its laser-sharp focus on delivering for its customers no matter what and we are thrilled to see the Mercedes-Benz Actros be part of it,” says Mr Assimo.

“We’re excited to see how well the more powerful 2663 Actros trucks perform in the GTS Freight Management fleet, because we know how much drivers love this truck.”

The GTS Freight Management Actros trucks feature Predictive Powertrain Control (PPC) which uses topographic map data and GPS to help the truck anticipate terrain and select the optimum shift pattern and engine response for maximum fuel economy including coasting when safe.
